The Christian Education program of the Ligonier Christian Church seeks to provide comprehensive support to children, teens, and families as they grow in knowledge and faith. Through a combination of thoughtful studies, creative activities, challenging objectives, and extra-curricular activities, the church seeks to support the spiritual formation of all concerned.

The spiritual underpinning of the Next Generation Youth ministry is the example and teaching of Jesus.

Jesus grew. “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man” (Luke 2:52, NIV).
Jesus commanded. “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. ’This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:37-39, NIV).

The attitude toward loving and spiritually educating our children and teens is rooted in relationships.

Jesus loves children. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it” (Luke 18:15-17, NIV).

Parents train children. “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it” (Proverbs 22:6, NIV).

God provides for children. “I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread” (Psalm 37:25, NIV).

Five reasons your Kids and Teens should attend L.I.F.T. Ministry:

To Learn About God. When your little ones participate, they will find the age-appropriate Bible teaching their young minds are so eager to absorb. Their teachers can shape the lessons to meet the comprehension level and interest of any age. Teachers will incorporate fun activities, like crafts and skits, into the lesson so your children will be able to remember them.

To Find Mentors. Parenting is tough, but when you have teachers working to mentor your children, they can provide another source of guidance. The church is a community where everyone helps their neighbors. When you take your children to L.I.F.T. activities, you can rest assured you have qualified help with their spiritual education.

To Make Friends. If you want your children to make more friends, L.I.F.T. Ministry is a great place to find them. As they learn and play together on Sunday mornings, they will be able to form healthy friendships with children whose parents have the same priorities as you.

To Form Good Habits. If you start consistently taking your kiddos to church when they’re young, they will forever learn the good habits of church attendance. For the rest of their lives, they’ll benefit from the knowledge they gained from L.I.F.T.

To Have Fun. Don’t forget the importance of play and fun. With talented teachers, great activities, and friends they enjoy, your little ones will love going to L.I.F.T. every week. This is a great way to show your kids learning about God can be really cool.
